Potshole Reservoir - MarDon Resort
Our destination for Tuesday was Moses Lake, WA. We got to our campground, could not get to the lake, could not see the lake, so we decided to go somewhere else. We ended up at Potshole Reservoir. We had a very nice campsite on the reservoir and after talking to the guy at the store/tackle shop we found out where to fish from the shore.
Wednesday morning found us up at 5 a.m. and picking our way down a couple of hundred feet through very large boulders to our fishing spot. Success!! We came away with 3 very nice bass, 15", 13" and 12". Of course mine was not the largest again:)
Thursday morning we were up at 6 and tried a new spot that was not quite as treacherous to get to. Steve caught a few small trout that we released.
We took the time to see the new Hercules movie, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Tried our hand at fishing in the first spot again in the evening, we caught a couple of small trout again that we released.
We had a great bass dinner.
I thought Washington State would be cool, not! We have had 105 degrees days. We are ready for, some cool. Hopefully as we get closer to Seattle.
I was talking to a local woman at the laundrymat and she was telling me that the reservoir was full in May, but in July they start draining it for farm irrigation. They take about 100,000 gallons a day to support the local agriculture.
